Berczy Bulletin: The July Edition

Summer is here, albeit between the odd monsoon rain! We’re getting used to packing our umbrellas with our sunglasses, in preparation for every eventuality. It’s been a great month at Berczy HQ, we attended our first festival, with our newest team member Shirley (more on this below) and we loved meeting so many of you and hearing your feedback!

We’re really excited for a number of cool events in August, first up is the Pure Sport Run Club, if you’re a keen runner, this is the only run club to be a part of in London right now! On Friday 6th August, we’ll be serving ice-cold refreshments to runners at Battersea Park Track. We will also be at the Lone Design Club pop-up on the Kings Road on Thursday 12th and 19th of August, so keep an eye on our socials for the details.

Taste of London

We had a fantastic time at Taste of London this month with the whole team. The sun shone every day, and we were able to hand out chilled Berczy's to a thirsty crowd. After a year of working behind the scenes and our laptops, it was so rewarding to see the great reactions; we were humbled by all the positive feedback!

Tokyo Olympics

We’re loving the Tokyo Olympics, and Team GB have already won an incredible number of medals. Our ambassador, Aimee Fuller, is an ex-Olympian snowboarder and has a fantastic podcast on BBC Sounds called The Olympic Mile, where she speaks to all the athletes. Make sure you check it out here.

An Incredible Giveaway

We’ve partnered with two fantastic, sustainable brands, Pointless Plants and The Basket Room, to bring you our best-yet summer giveaway. We bring you a 36-can Sharer Pack of our fruity alcoholic sparkling water (worth £59.95), a hand-woven Ghanaian picnic basket (worth £79), and a £60 voucher to spend on gorgeous house plants!

Shirley is our newest member of the team, she was bought by Berczy co-founder Matt, who lovingly restored her. This gorgeous Austin Mini was about to head to the junkyard, because the previous owner, Shirley (the namesake), wasn’t too happy about the numerous breakdowns. With a fresh makeover, Shirley is now full of life and ready for a summer of events on the road!

What she’s interested in?

I like short, flat journeys with minimal hills. At my ripe age of 35 in human years – that’s over 105 in car years – I’m far too old for steep gradients! Although, I do like to go downhill, weeee!

Favourite place to visit?

Back in my heyday, I loved the London to Brighton mini run, I’m not sure I could cope with the hills now though. The scenery, however, was gorgeous.

Which flavour she'll be grabbing tonight?

If I wasn’t an unleaded petrol lady, then I suppose I would go for a Passionfruit & Turmeric.

What she’s loving right now?

It's my first time in London as a fruity number, so I'm just enjoying cruising around and people taking photos of me. I’m wheely excited to meet you all!

Mini Cooper

"Berczy is the perfect addition to your park picnic thanks to its light and refreshing taste. Eek out every ounce of the sunny weather with their fruity flavours, including our favourite the Passionfruit & Turmeric."
